Canterbury Shopmobility is a charity scheme which allows anyone with a mobility problem or impairment, whether temporary or permanent, to gain access to all resident facilities and tourist and leisure attractions that Canterbury, Herne Bay, Whitstable and surrounding areas offer.

Whether you are going shopping, visiting friends, doctors etc or simply to get out and about to escape the confines of the house, we can help.

We can arrange delivery and collection of mobility equipment via local accessible taxi services at reasonable terms.

Where we are

Our unit is located on the 2nd floor of the White Friars multi-storey car park, directly above Boots.

Unfortunately due to an address conflict Google Maps will show us located within the build a bear workshop.

The red dot on the map below indicates the easiest pedestrian access from Gravel Walk.

Here you will find lifts to take you to the 2nd floor. On exiting the lift we are located round the corner on the left.

We are a registered charity and our current sponsors include Canterbury City Council, Whitefriars, Streynshams Trust, Kent Community Funding and Pargiter Trust. We are required to obtain new vehicles for the substantial increase in demand that our service is experiencing, and to service and maintain our present fleet of scooters and wheelchairs.

We rely on sponsorship and generous benefactors to help us do this but it is becoming more difficult to attract sufficient support for our ever increasing costs.

We would be extremely grateful for any donations of financial means or suitable mobility equipment whatever it may be, that you may be able to give and given in the knowledge that you will be supporting a valuable service without which would cause severe disruption, despair and a void in many disabled people's lives.
